Gorgeous art piece for display as a centerpiece, or for the mantle.
These reproductions are inspired by dolls found in European and American households in the early 1800's. Head, hands, and feet are constructed of a durable composition clay. the primitive body is made of muslin. The entire doll has been given an antiqued finish. Hands and feet are attached with ecru ribbon, the upper arms are stuffed and attached to the dress separately. All clay parts on the doll are hand sculpted using no molds.
The frame is very antiqued and features gold washed decorative flourishes and gilded accents. Magnets hold the lid closed. The backing is made of decorative paper of various colors that are grungied for an authentically aged appearance. It is suggested that a stand (not included) be used to hold the shadow box. There are two hanger brackets on the back for the wall.
This OOAK 6" doll is dressed in a turquoise dress and a deep red artist's smock. An ivory satin ribbon is tied at her neck. A matching beret sits atop her head. Her hair is painted brown and sculpted into curl clusters at the front her head The doll can be removed, if desired, by cutting the twine that runs through the backing.
The doll is mounted a doll presentation set that depicts a presentation card that would be found in toy shops. It is aged and waterstained to appear vintage. All accessories in this set are secured to the card with twine, but are permanently fixed and cannot be removed, this keeps the arrangement stable. The backing card is permanently attached to the shadowbox.
Featured accessories: 6" artist doll holding faux painbrush, 4 colored pencils, wooden dipping pen, a paint brush, miniature wooden palette, tiny watercoler paper book, a miniature painted easel and canvas with paper Van Gogh painting.
