These reproductions are inspired by dolls found in European and American households in the early 1800's. Head, hands and feet are constructed of a durable composition clay. the primitive body is made of muslin. The entire doll has been given an antiqued finish. Hands and feet are attached with ecru ribbon, the upper arms are stuffed and attached to the dress separately. All clay parts on the doll are hand sculpted using no molds. This is an art doll. Not a toy.
 
This 18" doll is dressed in an antiqued muslin gown with a hans dyed paper rose embellished neckline. An ecru satin ribbon is tied under her bust. Her sculpted hair is painted auburn and styled in an updo. She wears a sparkling crystal tiara at the front of her head and a trio of hand dyed paper flowers in the back into which  feathers are tucked. Her dangling earrings feature rhinestone crystals matching the elegant strand of crystals around her neck. She is painted to give the appearance of wearing gloves on her hands and trimmed withbraid. Her eyes are painted green and very detailed.
